I needed several moss covered balls for a project I wanted to do. I start at my local big box craft stores and YIKES it would cost a small fortune to buy what I needed. So what’s a crafty girl to do? Yes, DIY it! So off I go to gather the supplies. Here’s what I used.
Moss ( a crafter must have)
Mossy green spray paint
Styrofoam balls (varying in size) I ordered mine here.
First, spray paint styrofoam balls green. This helps with coverage so you don’t have to cover every spot with moss.
Next step apply adhesive.
Next, apply moss.
OK so be careful not to get sticky fingers but you want to get the moss on pretty quickly before adhesive dries. Press it into the glue pretty well. I used a chopstick for this part.
I wanted a fuzzy uneven look so I used several types of moss. I even had a moss mix that had tiny sticks in it, LOVE! I mixed it all together and added different types to achieve the look I was going for. Some moss is in Clumpy larger pieces so I pulled it a part to break it up into smaller pieces. Let it dry and they are ready to use. Enjoy
So if you are wondering how I used my DIY moss covered balls? In my next post, I will reveal my Woodland inspired Dining Room.
