I was raised on thrifting, junking and crafting. I guess you could say it’s in my blood. I remember as a child going to this dingy junk store that literally looked like it would fall onto the busy highway below, seriously it was leaning and you had to walk wonky to make it through it. Kids love that kind of thing, what an adventure! Needless to say I had a colorful childhood. I grew up with copper pots, an awesome vintage Coke Cola machine, and a butler block island that was salvaged from a old restaurant. Our house was full of character and I loved it!
My style is different from my childhood home but it is important to me to recreate that warmth and character in my own home. This website and blog is about my journey towards achieving that. I will share how to’s, before and afters, and hopefully inspiration along the way.
I currently have a business in North Carolina specializing in restoration, renewal and revitalization of vintage furniture. I teach furniture painting classes and offer custom furniture painting, using a high quality furniture and cabinet paint named Paint Couture. I currently have a shop in Kernersville, N.C. at Eclection and in Greensboro at Shoppes on Patterson. My shops are always changing but on most days you can find vintage furniture and household items including pillows, furniture paint and paint supplies and re-purposed items. I hope you stop by for a visit!
